17 titles from some of the most revered acts in music including Bad Company, The Cars, Devo, Grateful Dead, The Monkees, The Replacements, and Velvet Underground, many of them limited editions.

Seeking to enliven “a barren wasteland in the world of new music releases,” Rhino has unveiled the “Start Your Ear Off Right” campaign, which will see a slew of reissues arriving on Jan. 19 from a long list of acts that includes Bad Company, the Cars, the Greatful  Dead, Devo and the Monkees.

There are 17 titles in all, most of them vinyl and quite a few limited-edition — and they’ll be available exclusively at participating physical record outlets. Classic-rock releases include a two-LP Bad Company best-of, a limited-edition blue vinyl reissue of the Cars’ debut and Shrine Auditorium, Los Angeles, CA 11/10/67, a three-LP vinyl set from the Dead archives that serves as the first breakout release from the band’s massive 30 Trips Around the Sun boxed set.

Also among the “Start Your Ear Off Right” titles is a Monkees reissues —  a 10-CD box collecting all of the band’s studio albums.  In addition, consumers can look for a red white and blue vinyl reissue of Devo’s Freedom of Choice, limited to 6,000 copies, as well as a newly remastered CD and two-LP version of the Velvet Underground‘s Live at Max’s Kansas City.
