ISO presents Summer Strings...

An Introductory Summer Strings Programme The International Symphony Orchestra is pleased to be sponsoring an Introductory Summer Strings Programme for ages five and above. Adults are also welcome to attend. Sessions will run July 25th to 29th, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. each morning, and will include instruction in the beginning elements of string playing: sound production/notes; correct hand and finger position; posture etc. Accomplishments will be highlighted at a Graduation Recital, which will take place on the morning of July 29th . Participants may select either violin or cello, and instruments will be provided. Sessions are being held in the Sarnia location, 251 North Vidal Street. A fee of $50 applies for the 5 classes, with some bursary assistance available depending on need. Violin students will be under the instruction of Stephen Collins, Director of the St. Cecilia Conservatory of Music, and International Symphony Orchestra violist. Regardless of sexual identity, coming out is an ongoing process of living your sexuality and gender identity and bringing it into your families, groups of friends, workplaces, and communities. Join us on June 1st at our second Sarnia Speaks dialogue as we discuss what it's like coming out and living as an LGBTQ individual in our community. Listen to the stories of our featured panel members and after share your own during an open floor.
