DROWNING POOL - HELLELUJAH

Posted in: What's New | No Comments

DROWNING POOL build triumph out of tragedy, steadily evolve without compromise, and remain true to their supporters with over a decade’s worth of remarkable fortitude and attitude. HELLELUJAH is absolutely the album their diehard fans demanded and the aggressive heavy rock world at large deserved. The platinum-plus conquerors from The Lone Star State deliver their heaviest batch of hell raising anthems, each burning with fiery adrenaline destined to light the radio ablaze and ignite crowds into impassioned sing-alongs. Only a few seconds Giant riffs, crowd moving grooves and monstrous vocals are the tools with which into the album’s first single, “By the Blood,” it’s evident that Hellelujah is the most aggressive, ambitious, and truly definitive Drowning Pool album since Sinner, the platinum platter that gave the world Top 20 rock radio hit “Tear Away” and the massively successful “Bodies.” It doesn’t get more brazenly defiant than Drowning Pool Hellelujah bangers like “We Are the Devil,” “Goddamn Vultures,” or “Push”: forward thinking ...

Posted in: What's New | No Comments

The Astonishing is the 13th studio album from American progressive metal and rock band; Dream Theater. The album is accompanied by an online story where fans can watch the story and characters unfold on the band’s website. Dream Theater have written a 2-CD concept album. It’s a concept album not in the sense of a “theme”, but rather an extremely creative and well written story has been created by John Petrucci and the 2- CD album is essentially the music score to this story. "Probably the most ambitious album project I’ve known, for its stylistic scope and epic forces. In addition to being ace musicians at a stellar level, Dream Theater are masters of melodic and rhythmic excitement, which is dramatically demonstrated when you hear their music accompanied by full orchestra and choirs.” – David Campbell

BASEMENT - PROMISE EVERYTHING

Posted in: What's New | No Comments

Since abruptly announcing an indefinite hiatus only weeks after the release of 2012’s breakthrough LP Colourmeinkindness, Basement’s intensely devoted following has only grown. Promise Everything is the band’s full-length return to writing and recording since the break. Challenged by the spacing out of members not only across the country - but across the globe - Promise Everything was written by piecing together songs without the luxury of a space or even a time zone to share. Perhaps this is why upon listening, Promise Everything feels like a conversation between different people, revealing different moods and feelings throughout. This conversation shifts and evolves, filtering subtle, tasteful alternative rock touchstones through the band’s unmatched melodic lens. More clearly aggressive songs like “Brother’s Keeper” and title track “Promise Everything” situate Basement at the forefront of the rock world, pairing that aggression with an inherent sense of melody. On the standout track “Aquasun,” lyrical flow and melody overtake the listener while overt meaning gives way to musicality and its nuance. ...
