A. Guy Lombardo was born in London, Ontario in June, 1902. His orchestra played at venues around North America, but is most famous for New Year’s Eve radio and television broadcasts from 1929 through the mid-70s where they always played “Auld Lang Syne”. His hit song “It’s Love-Love-Love” arrived on the Billboard chart on April 6, 1944, lasting a total of ten weeks on the chart, peaking at number one for two weeks.
The song was included in the film Stars on Parade (1944).
The Platters included the song on their album Song for the Lonely (1962).
