MOTHER MOTHER – NO...

With the world roiled by fear and division borne out of politics, economic uncertainty, and terrorism, perhaps there is no better time for the arrival of music underpinned by the belief that love wins. Into the maw of anxiety comes Mother Mother with No Culture, which posits that society uses negative byproducts of culture — such as narcissism, hedonism, and addiction — as a means to nurture its fears of the unknown. “If we can strip back the culture, or the masks, attitudes, and stories that feed our differences, and just connect as people we might be more united at a time where we really need to be,” says Mother Mother’s frontman, guitarist, and lyricist Ryan Guldemond. The album was co‐produced by Brian Howes, Ryan Guldemond and Jason “JVP” Van Poederooyen. With tracks like “Baby Boy”, Guldemond treats the verses as a confessional box, admitting his penchant for self‐destruction, deceit, and diehard adolescence, ...

Posted in: What's New | No Comments

Def Leppard are a well oiled touring machine and fans will get to enjoy the fruits of that live experience on the band’s next release, a concert CD/DVD or CD/BLU-RAY titled And There Will Be a Next Time — Live From Detroit. The video disc and two‐disc CD will arrive on Feb. 10 from Eagle Rock Entertainment and will also be available in Blu‐Ray and digital video formats. The footage comes from the band’s performance at the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, Mich. in the Detroit area. Frontman Joe Elliott says, “I had this idea that we should film one of the shows from the 2016 tour because apart from the ‘Viva Hysteria’ shows, we hadn’t actually had a live performance filmed since 1988. With a new album out that was being so well received, it was just a case of where to do it. From the second the house lights went down, we could ...

MUMFORD & SONS –...

Earlier this year, Mumford & Sons embarked on an historic, sell-out tour of South Africa. In addition to filming this concert, they spent two all-day-and-all-night sessions at the South African Broadcasting Corporation writing and recording new songs with Baaba Maal, Beatenberg and The Very Best. The resulting “Johannesburg” mini-album was a top ten hit in June this year in their major markets (and the lead track, ‘There Will Be Time‘, went straight to number 1 in South Africa upon release in late January - the band’s first number 1 single). All of these artists appear on “Live From South Africa: Dust And Thunder”. Directed by Dick Carruthers (Led Zeppelin, The Killers, Imagine Dragons, Beyoncé), the shoot took place in Pretoria, South Africa during their Gentlemen Of The Road stopover dates. The band have a handful of final dates left in North America on their Wilder Mind campaign. Live From South Africa ism available as a DVD, Blu-ray ...

BIG WRECK – GRACE STREET

Multi-platinum selling Canadian rockers Big Wreck are set to return with Grace Street, an album that continues to build on the creative momentum of their two previous JUNO-nominated releases, Ghosts and Albatross. Albatross featured a #1 hit song and 3 top ten singles at radio, and Ghosts garnered the highest charting position for the band in their career, hitting #5 on the Canadian Albums Chart, and #4 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.” Co-produced by Garth Richardson (Rage Against The Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers), the sonic diversity on Grace Street is indeed stunning. Heavy grooving tracks such as lead-off single “One Good Piece Of Me” and “Digging In” rub shoulders with the atmospheric “A Speedy Recovery” and the epic seven-minute instrumental “Skybunk Marché,” while other tracks feature added touches such as Miles Davis-style muted trumpet, wine glasses, a sample of a child’s heartbeat, and a Leslie speaker guitar solo recorded on ...
