Montreal duo Solids will release their debut album Blame Confusion on February 18, 2022 via Dine Alone (Canada).
Praised for it’s “full-throttle fuzz-rock,” lead track “Traces” premiered on Pitchfork.
Formed by Xavier Germain-Poitras (guitar) and Louis Guillemette (drums), Solids crafts a melodic blend of distorted rock inthe vein of Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr and Superchunk.
Blame Confusion was recorded by Adrian Popovich at Mountain City Studio (We Are Wolves, Sam Roberts, The Dears).
The band has praise from the likes of Pitchfork NME (Buzz Band of the Week), Brooklyn Vegan, Huffington Post, + more.
Solids has played SXSW, Osheaga, Pop MTL and The Fest, plus dates with METZ, Native, etc and will tour Canada in 2014.
“These two manage a seemingly impossible amount of noise for two people. Think DFA 1979 but even louder. It’s like Fugazi meets a beefed up Dinosaur Jr” - NME (Buzz Band of the Week)
“A nod to their 90s college-radio predecessors, Blame Confusion is one of the best [upcoming] Canrock albums.” – NOW Magazine (5 star review)
