Entertainment icon Snoop Lion is set to release his highly anticipated new album, Reincarnated on April 23, 2013. Recorded in Jamaica, the reggae and dancehall-influenced album was executive produced by Diplo and Major Lazer and features Drake, Chris Brown, Busta Rhymes, T.I., Akon, Rita Ora and more.
The album includes tracks “La, La, La” “Ashtrays and Heartbreaks,” “Harder Times,” and the very personal “No Guns Allowed.” “No Guns Allowed” features Snoop Lion’s daughter Cori B. and shares the message of hope and peace in light of recent events around the world.
“We were searching for true reggae music and the message of peace and hope it reflects,” says Snoop Lion of REINCARNATED. “It’s so much a part of who I am, and this record is all about paying homage and giving respect to those who created and love reggae music, and hopefully introducing it to a whole new audience. I feel truly honored to make this album and respect to all who blazed the path for me.”
The making of Reincarnated was documented in a film of the same name, featuring Snoop’s compelling and controversial journey and spiritual awakening as Snoop Lion during his recent trip to Jamaica, where the culture and people positively affected him. The film was chosen as an official selection of the critically acclaimed Toronto International Film Festival.
