Hi Members of The Lawrence House Centre for the Arts,
July and August will be opportunities for member artists to exhibit their work on the overall theme of celebrating Canada’s 150th birthday.
July’s exhibition has two themes: “The Best Part of Canada Is” and “Portraits of Canadians”. Artists may submit one work in each theme.
August’s category is “The Sky’s the Limit”. Artists may submit two works in this show.
The work must be original art and be ready to hang with a wire. The Portraits of Canadians may use source material from others, but the source should be given credit in the title of the work, for example “after a portrait by Yousuf Karsh”.
Three dimensional work may also be submitted. Artists may submit up to five three dimensional pieces.
The intake for the July exhibition is on Sunday, June 25th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Take-down and pick-up will be on Saturday, July 29th.
The intake for the August exhibition is on Sunday, July 30th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Take-down and pick-up will be on Saturday, August 26th.
Note: Members can stop by anytime to pick up a 10″ x 10″ piece of canvas to fill with art for our sesquicentenial banner project that will adorn the staircase at the Lawrence House.
The board of directors are all enthusiastic about celebrating Canada’s sesquicentennial and we hope you will participate in these exhibitions.
Best Wishes,
Leonard
