Blessed withan achingly distinctive voice, Jadea Kelly bridges the lilting country tinges of Iros Dement with the darker influences of Portishead’s synth and organ pads. Her 2010 recording Eastbound Platform earned a CFMA (Canadian Folk Music Award) nomination for emerging artist of the year and she was later featured on CBC as part of Vinyl Cafe with Stuart McLean. She was also recorded live by CBC as the 2010 Stuart Park Festival.
