Four churches in Sarnia will be hosting the World Day of Prayer, a global ecumenical prayer service on March 1.
The services are: Trinity Anglican at 11 a.m. with lunch to follow; Camlachie United with a potluck luncheon at 12:30 p.m. with service to follow at 1:45 p.m; the Salvation Army at 1 p.m. with refreshments to follow; St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic at 2 p.m. with refreshments to follow.
All are welcome to attend these international ecumenical prayer services that are organized by the Women’s Inter-Church Council of Canada, WIC
This year’s service was written by the women of Slovenia. Slovenia is about 21 kilometres in size and gained its independence from Yugoslavia in 1991. The theme is “Come –All is Ready”.
Twenty-six Sarnia churches are participating in these services. Proceeds from the free will donation support Canadian and international social justice and women’s projects.
