The White Buffalo is Jake Smith: singer, song‐writer, guitarist, teller of stories; an artist whose voice – an emotive timber‐shakin’ baritone – seems directly linked to a greater truth; an artist who will not be swayed by fashion or restricted by genre. And now, The White Buffalo releases new studio album, ‘On The Widow’s Walk’ – an 11 strong, loosely linked collection of dark thrills produced by Shooter Jennings, who also plays piano and keys. Following in the footsteps of his father, country legend Waylon Jennings, Shooter doesn’t believe in sticking to the rules. He works with a diverse selection of artists, from Marilyn Manson to Tanya Tucker, and his collaboration with The White Buffalo has produced a special, signature release. Of the six studio albums and three EPs thus far issued under The White Buffalo banner, ‘On The Widow’s Walk’ is the most collaborative and organic; recorded in under a week with the ocean and a ...

MoreThe Mahones have come a long way in 30 years (1990-2020) : heralded as pioneers of the Irish punk scene, and internationally recognised as one of the best and hardest working punk outfits around. The new project is an acoustic unplugged album that presents their best loved songs and performances in a raw and intimate performance. The album includes the acoustic recording of the standout track from last year’s Love+Death+Redemption: “Never Let Me Down” featuring vocals by Sarah Harmer as a bonus track with a new video. Another highlight is Simon Townshend of The Who providing acoustic guitar and harmony vocals on “Stars.” Other key tracks are a cover of Trent Reznor’s “Hurt” and the haunting vocals of Damhnait Doyle on the new acoustic version of “A Little Bit of Love.”

For a taste, album opener "The Benefits of Being Alone" has also arrived with an accompanying music video. Recorded in Toronto, the album features a supporting cast including Joshua Van Tassel on drums, Robbie Grunwald on keys, Brian Kobayakawa on bass, Dean Drouillard on electric guitars and Chris Stringer as engineer.
