‘CELEBRATING MEMORY’
8th Annual Writing Contest
All writers are invited to submit a letter, poem, or short story that the photograph (on
the ASL website) inspires them to write about celebrating memory, to the
‘CELEBRATING MEMORY’ Writing Contest.
Draw on your imagination or facts to sharing your most-treasured memories.
The letter, poem or short story is intended to be a celebration of the gift of memory
and does not have to be specific to dementia; fiction or nonfiction – just what the
photograph inspires you to write (see the Alzheimer Society website for the
photograph and contest rules).
The objective of the contest is to increase awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and
related dementias, during January Alzheimer awareness month.
Submissions from 18 years and older must be accompanied by a $20.00 entry fee,
and be considered a donation to the local chapter. Donations of greater value are
welcome but will not affect the outcome of the competition.
Submissions from 17 years and younger are free.
This year’s theme is ‘CELEBRATING MEMORY’.
