A star on the rise, Joni Mitchell charms an Alumni Hall audience during her November, 1968 concert at UWO. The Canadian singer-songwriter had met a London group, The Towne Criers, a few years earlier when she'd been a "hootenanny night" guest as they played a gig in Saskatchewan.~ 1970 – Joni Mitchell’s ‘Ladies of the Canyon’ is released. It’s the third studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell. The title makes reference to Laurel Canyon, a centre of popular music culture in Los Angeles during the 1960s. The album includes several of Mitchell’s most noted songs, such as “Big Yellow Taxi”, “Woodstock” and “The Circle Game”.
