Inspired by the legend of King Arthur, MERLIN’S M IRROR tells the story of Piper and Thomas, and a chance encounter with a mysterious old man that takes them on an unbelievable adventure to the magical kingdom of Camelot. Merlin’s life is in peril, and the evil witch Morgause is becoming more powerful and dangerous. Merlin must be saved, or the world will forever be cloaked in darkness and despair. Piper and Thomas are the kindly wizard’s only hope, and the only hope for their own future.
Twenty- four roles will be cast for MERLIN’S MIRROR, and young actors and actresses between the ages of nine and eighteen years are invited to audition. Auditions are by appointment only, Jan. 22, 23 and 24 in Petrolia. Times and dates can be booked by calling (519) 331-3338. Audition requirements: One short monologue (not a school speech).
MERLIN’S MIRROR will be performed for school matinees and public performances at the Sarnia Library Theatre May 8th through May 12th . Rehearsals will take place twice weekly (Tuesday/Thursday) from 6:00 – 8:00 PM in Petrolia.
The presentation of MERLIN’S MIRROR is part of a performance training program under the direction of qualified and experienced theatre professionals (C.A.E.A.) that prepares young actors and actresses for the live stage. A registration fee of $165.00 is required if accepted into the program.
LYTP’s popular Saturday Drama Club for young people between the ages of six to ten years of age will be offered for eight weeks from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM (Jan. 20 – March 10) in Petrolia under the direction of Emily Graszat. Improvisation, theatre games, play-making, and a whole lot more, the Saturday Drama Club focuses on developing skills, creativity, and FUN! Cost $165.00 per child.
