Scott, the bass player arrived first and helped set up the Red Carpet Stage outside in front of Cheeky Monkey. Early afternoon is the perfect time for live music outside the store. The tree gives just the right amount of shade to those stopping to enjoy the band. Sometimes the band gets to work on their tan though.
Once drummer Gerry and singer/guitairist Leigh arrived, they were set up and entertaining passers-by in no time at all. Since it was such a beautiful day, many of the people who lingered to listen were riding bikes of one kind or another.
STEADFAST played mostly original songs with a few cover tunes thrown in for variety. Leigh’s distinctive vocals are always standout if playing solo/acoustically but with the addition of the bass and drums the whole package come together in a wonderful way.
Four guys that stayed to listen for a bit after browsing the Cheeky Monkey bins turned out to be musicans themselves. It was James, John, Sly and Ben of NEW COUNTRY REHAB. They had played Paddy Flaherty’s the night before and decided to stop by our store before heading onto their next gig. If you missed them this time in town, watch our Events calender for their next visit to Sarnia possibly in July. Also keep an eye for STEADFAST’s next gig. They are popular and play often in the area.
