Posted in: ADVENTURES OF CHEEKY CHARLIE, News | No Comments | Posted on by Mary Anne

On Saturday August 13, Cheeky Charlie had the pleasure of attending the one woman play ‘The Blonde, The Brunette and The Vengeful Redhead’ starring Linda Kash atSarnia’s Imperial Theatre.

Waiting for the show to start – Cheeky Charlie is so excited

For those who don’t recognize the name of the star, she has been in many wonderful movies such as Waiting For Guffman, Best in Show and Man of the Year to name a few. She has also been on several top TV shows like Seinfeld, Third Rock From The Sun and Everyone Loves Raymond.   She is best known and recognized as the angel on the Philadelphia cream cheese commercials.
‘The Blonde, The Brunette and The Vengeful Redhead’ is a remarkable journey of discovery that covers so many emotions. Love, loss, lust, deception, misplaced revenge and forgiveness. The story unfolds revealing many layers and connections causing sometimes tears and at other times laughter with many revelations.
Miss Kash skillfully portraits the seven very distinct charactrers including a man and a young child each with their own percpective on the main event of the play.
The Stage set was very minimal in design. Between each character’s part, Miss Kash stepped behind a back lit screen to metamorphis into the next character. The first time she did this poor Cheeky Charlie felt upset that the stage hands had forgotten to turn the light off for her. You could see her in silhoutte as she changed clothes and wigs!!! Then it dawned on him, it was part of the play. Well isn’t that cheeky!! and effective!

Cheeky Charlie is all smiles while getting a hug from Linda Kash

After the play, Miss Kash came out into the lobby to meet the audience.   Cheeky Charlie was thrilled to meet and get a hug from her.  She is a very down to earth, sweet lady. This was Cheeky Charlie’s first adventure at a play. He enjoyed it so much he is hoping to go again in the near future and recommends everyone go to a play at least once at our beautiful downtown Sarnia Imperial Theatre.  Once you do, like Cheeky Charlie, you’ll want to go again and again.
