JIM CUDDY – COUNTRYWIDE SOUL

JIM CUDDY – COUNTRYWIDE...

After an extensive tour in support of their album, Constellation, The Jim Cuddy Band reconvened at Jim’s family farm in Southern Ontario. From this came the making of Countrywide Soul – Jim Cuddy’s forthcoming album – arriving May 31st. Inspired by the band’s live show, Jim wanted to capture this energy on record and showcase each member’s skill, allowing them to stretch out and shine. Produced by Tim Vesely, Jim Cuddy and Colin Cripps, Countrywide Soul was recorded live on the top floor of Jim's barn and kept as natural as possible to retain the woody sound of the barn board room and the energy that only comes from playing together live. To achieve his vision on Countrywide Soul, Jim re-worked a number of songs previously recorded for his solo career and with Blue Rodeo. To round out the record, he wrote two new tracks and included a couple of favourite cover ...

KENNY WAYNE SHEPHERD -THE...

The Traveler, an album of experience and profound resonance by the Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band. THOMAS RHETT – CENTER...

With 12 best-selling No. 1s, an armload of awards, a growing reputation for electrifying headline tours and a distinction as Country radio’s most played artist of 2018, THOMAS RHETT’s upcoming fourth studio album, CENTER POINT ROAD out May 31st is more than hotly anticipated !! CENTER POINT ROAD mines Thomas Rhett's upbringing for inspiration, reaching new heights of exposing truth-life through songwriting with the star co-writing all 16 tracks on the album for the first time. In addition to the “buoyant” (Rolling Stone) lead single “Look What God Gave Her,” first introduced on Saturday Night Live, the album embraces bold unpredictability which is becoming Thomas Rhett’s signature: hot-blooded R&B meets brassy, shag-carpeted funk, danceable disco and breezy beachside soul, joining classic balladry, new school honky-tonk and above all, twangy authenticity. "For me, Center Point Road really symbolizes what it was like to grow up in Hendersonville,” explained Thomas Rhett. "First dates, first football games, first heartbreak, first kisses, success ...

FLYING LOTUS – FLAMAGRA

FLYING LOTUS – FLAMAGRA

Nearly half a decade has somehow elapsed since the last Flying Lotus album— the Grammy‐nominated cadaver tetris of You’re Dead! During that intermission, the multi‐disciplinary Los Angeles artist has remained in constant orbit, collaborating with Kendrick Lamar on the classic To Pimp a Butterfly, directing and writing the Sundance‐premiered comic horror hallucination Kuso, and producing much of Thundercat’s Drunk. He’s also nurtured his Brainfeeder imprint into the most consistently innovative record label of the decade. Yet throughout that span, there was the matter of his next full‐length statement. Enter Flamagra ‐ a work that sweeps up every quantum advance and creative leap of the last dozen years of Lotus’ career and takes them even further; the Warp release encompasses hip‐hop, funk, soul, jazz, global dance music, tribal poly‐rhythms, IDM, the L.A. Beat scene, but it soars above a specific vortex whose coordinates can’t be accurately charted. Other than to say that it is a Flying Lotus record, perhaps the definitive one. ...

MORRISSEY – CALIFORNIA SON

MORRISSEY – CALIFORNIA...

Stephen Patrick Morrissey was born May 22, 1959, in Manchester, England; not surprisingly a shy, awkward youth, he became obsessed with music and film as a teenager and devoted his writing talents to penning a New York Dolls fanzine (he was the president of their U.K. fan club), as well as a tribute to James Dean and numerous opinionated letters to the weekly music paper Melody Maker. During the explosion of punk in the late '70s, Morrissey unsuccessfully auditioned for Slaughter & the Dogs and sang for a brief period with a band called the Nosebleeds. He met guitarist Johnny Marr in 1982 and the two began writing songs together, forging one of the most productive partnerships British pop had seen in quite some time. The Smiths' 1983 debut single, "Hand in Glove," a love song filled with oblique references to homosexuality, made them an underground sensation in the U.K. and ...

THE NATIONAL – I AM EASY TO FIND

THE NATIONAL – I AM EASY...

I Am Easy To Find is The National’s eighth studio album and the follow-up to 2017’s GRAMMY®-award winning and chart topping release, Sleep Well Beast. The new album is prefaced by opening track ‘You Had Your Soul With You’. As it unfurls, it’s so far, so National: a digitally manipulated guitar line, skittering drums, Matt Berninger’s familiar baritone, mounting tension. Then around the 2:15 mark, the true nature of I Am Easy To Find announces itself: the racket subsides, strings swell, and the voice of long-time David Bowie bandmate Gail Ann Dorsey booms out— not as background vocals, not as a hook, but to take over the song. I Am Easy To Find also features vocal contributions from Sharon Van Etten, Brooklyn Youth Chorus, Lisa Hannigan, Mina Tindle, Kate Stables of This Is the Kit and more. There are choral arrangements and strings on nearly every track, largely put together by Bryce Dessner ...
