OMiGodshow Variety Show...

OMiGodshow is a 19+ Variety Show featuring original sketch comedy, live music and an after-videodanceparty on the Imperial Theatre stage August 18 & 19 from the relentlessly psychotic Ian Alexander and friends. AUDITIONS ARE JUNE 21 & 23 at 6:30pm UPSTAIRS AT THE IMPERIAL IN STUDIO A Please be prepared to read for varying characters, singing (if you want to), dancing (if you can without hurting yourself), MATURE CONTENT, and a stupid amount of fun. Some possible sketches to try to wrap your head around: "Kings" - A medieval tale of royals, British accents and absolute repulsion. "The Corpses" - A family deals with the past, the future, their strange daughter and Netflix Original Series pitches. "Dance Of The Flutterbyes" - Spring has sprung and Mother Nature is a bitch. "Velcro Wall" - One's journey to stick to it. "Fire Safety" - An office seminar heats up. "All Girls Super Sexy Slumber Party Sleepover" - Things get awkward real quick. "CLAIROSSITY" ...

Q. What Kingston band's video for "The Darkest One" featured Don Cherry delivering fried chicken to the Trailer Park Boys? A. Tragicially Hip it appears on the album In Violet Light (2002) and on the compilation album Yer Favourites (2005). The video begins with Julian and Bubbles and a character named Gord (Gord Downie, lead singer of the band) waking up Ricky. They tell him they are going to steal an engine for Gord's car in exchange for take-out chicken. The music begins, and the boys wait for their chicken dinner, which is delivered by someone who looks suspiciously like Don Cherry . But before they can eat, they have to steal the engine. While the band plays in his trailer, Gord hangs out with a bunch of Bubbles' kitties and the boys break into the hood of a nearby car. Gord takes the old engine out and the boys haul the new one ...

The Gypsy Flats Rocking In The...

The Gypsy Flats are a local band that clearly enjoy playing live music.  During the June 2, 2017 First Friday at Cheeky Monkey, the audience clearly sensed that by the reaction and comments they made. Playing primarily music that was popular before they were born, The Gypsy Flats give the songs penned by the likes of John Prine, Neil Young, Kris Kristofferson and John Fogerty a special touch creating their own sound.  Each member of the band brings a unique ingredient to the mix to create the perfect recipe for an entertaining evening. The Gypsy Flats consists of Cassy Dube, lead singer and rhythm guitar player backed by Marc Gauthier on bass, Ryan Smith on drums and vocals along with Mike Beauchamp on lead guitar and vocals. Q. Which 1980's Canadian band released "Helluvatime"? A.  Slik Toxik was a Canadian hard rock band formed in 1988 in Toronto. Slik Toxik was formed out of Toronto hard rock band Portrait.  he band was brought to the attention of Drew Masters who was a national music writer and manager for the band Succsexx. Drew thought that the band should change their name to have more attitude and impact to stand out from the bands that were currently playing on the scene. After adopting a new moniker Slik Toxik was then asked to be support act for Succexx. It was at one of those gigs at the Siboney Club in Toronto's Kensington Market area that manager John Boyes saw the band performing. A.  Prism (often styled as PRiSM) is a Canadian rock band formed in Vancouver in 1977.  They were originally active from 1977 to 1984 and have been active again from 1987 to present. Their classic line-up consisted of lead singer Ron Tabak, guitarist Lindsay Mitchell, keyboardist John Hall, bass guitarist Allen Harlow, and drummer Rocket Norton. The band's sound is a mix of Album-oriented rock (AOR) and pop rock, and they have released a total of thirteen studio albums, three compilation albums, and one live album.
